I have a question about infant car seats.
Which do you think is better? A car seat that is like this ...http://www.babyage.com/products/22-155bdf_cosco_cosco_alpha_omega_elite_3-in-1_car_seat.htm
or a carrier one like this...http://www.babyage.com/products/8a15prt_graco_graco_infant_safeseat-_step_1.htm
I thought a 3 in 1 car seat would be great since it can be used from birth to toddler. But I also think a carrier would do well since you can remove it with the baby still sleeping and such and it would be very convenient for the store and other places.
What do you think? What were your experience with these 2 car seats?
I think an infant carrier is a great idea because you can take the baby out of the car without waking them up - if you go with the 3 in 1 for a newborn, you will have to buckle the baby in when you get in the car, unbuckle them to take them out of the car, find a place to put them while you're in stores (newborns can't sit in shopping carts, so you'd have to use a sling or a baby carrier or a stroller, which you'd also have to strap them into). With the infant carrier, you just take the whole thing with you - they sit on shopping carts, snap into strollers without having to unbuckle the baby, and make a nice seat for them (like when you're at someone else's house that doesn't have a baby seat!)
I also liked the baby carrier to avoid other people asking to hold her when she was a newborn (like when I took her in to my job to meet everyone - I just brought her in in the carrier, and everyone could ooh and ahh over her, but she was sleeping and no one wanted to disturb her so I didn't have to worry about everyone touching her with their germy hands!).
In my opinion, the extra money to buy a new carseat when the baby outgrows the infant carrier is definitely worth it.
