Britax Boulevard or Decathlon...Please Help!!?
I have narrowed down my car seat search between the Britax Boulevard and Decathlon. I understand that the pros of the Decathlon is the 3 position adjustable crotch strap. The pros of the Boulevard is the side impact protection, supportive wings in headrest and an easy no-thread should strap harness adjustor. I have heard that the Boulevard blocks childrens view and they don't like it. How important is the adjustable crotch strap?? I have an 11-month old daughter who weighs 20lbs and is growing out of the infant seat. I have been researching this forever and can't figure it out...PLEASE HELP!!!
I also looked at both you mentioned but wound up with the Britax Roundabout. A girlfriend had the Roundabout and really liked it. I use the adjustable strap a lot depending on the weather and layers of clothing. I originally was concerned with the side impact protection and talked with someone where I got them in depth. The store personnel was also a mom who had tried numerous kinds with her kids. She could have tried to persuade me to the more expensive ones but did not. I am very happy with the Roundabout so far. Have you looked at that one? The other concern was the size of the Boulevard and Decathlon. They are very big and my car is on the smaller side in the back seat. Passengers would be up against the dashboard with those two in the reclined position. My son is 6 months and 18 pounds, therefore, he will still be rear facing for awhile. The Roundabout fit better. Just something to think about. Good luck.
I also wanted to add that I was able to go to my local Babies R Us and try the different styles in my car. I was glad I did because I found that some didn't fit as I had hoped. I also took my son a second time and tried him in the display car seats to see if he needed extra padding, etc.
