What is the best rear facing car seat to put my 5 month old baby in? He is 19lbs and 25in.?
I have a Britax Chaperone but now that he has grown I feel more comfortable with him in a rear facing car seat. I just don't like how infant car seats latch into a base..I like rear facing because I can latch the actual seat to the car, and not latch the seat to a base, that is latched to the car. I am looking at the Britax Advocate CS, the Britax Boulevard, and the Britax Marathon. I just can not decide which one will be best for him! They all seem pretty amazing.
Rear-facing is best up to age TWO, the 1 yr 20 lb rule is TERRIBLY UNSAFE for your baby's spine. Good for keeping him rear-facing longer. http://www.car-safety.org/rearface.html
Sure, there lil legs will scrunch up, but I wouldn't put comfort 1st over safety.
