How do you fix a seized engine?
I have several old cars the have been sitting for a range of years, and all of them have seized motors.they all ran when i parked them but now they are frozen up. i don't know weather or not i can make them run, as i do not know how to fix a seized motor. since i have never had to before. If it is at all needed, here is a list of the vehicles i am concerned about:
1955 Chevrolet 150 4 Door Sedan W/ original 265 V8 (Sitting 30 years)
1965 Chevrolet G-10 Van W/ non original 350 V8 (Sitting 30 Years)
1952 Chevrolet Style Line Deluxe Convertible W/ Original Straight 6 (Sitting 5 years)
1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme W/ Original 350 V8 (Sitting 20 years)
Any help is greatly appreciated.
run to autozone and get some marval mystery oil its in a purple container and there's 2 ways to do drain the oil and put the mystery oil in there or pull the spark plugs and some in there not a lot though just a little and like gary said turn it by hand several time with a bar till it loosens. now i do know that kerosene will work too never heard of using diesel or atf, lol but that mystery oil just does wonders, we've used it a couple times these engines weren't seized but when we pulled the spark plugs it looked pretty bad in there and we let it run for a little bit and we pulled the plugs again and it looked like new in there. Another thing that i would do since those vehicles have sat for a very long time i would drain the fuel cuz i bet it smells like paint thinner right now and becarefull with the fuel pumps because they may need to be replaced, it's one of those maybe maybe not deals
